Helloooooo Chicago! Welcome to the Summer in the City Blog! I’m Laura, the lucky winner of the XRT and Apartment People’s summer contest. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am! If you haven’t heard about the Summer in the City contest, basically I’m getting hooked-up with 3 months free rent in Chicago –when it’s at its best, SUMMER! Coming from the suburbs, the move has been an eye opener –literally. The Apartment People set me up in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 50th floor that looks right down into Wrigley Field. The view is amazing at night; you can see the entire Chicago skyline light up. I moved in last week and will have to take you on a tour of the apartment next time I write so you can see it firsthand. But let me just tell you, the hardwood floors, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances combined with the amazing views makes it feel like a penthouse. The outdoor pool helps too!
So, not only do I get to look down into Wrigley, but Wrigley Premium Tickets gave me GREAT seats for a couple of games throughout the summer. On Tuesday I got to cheer on my favorite team from just a few rows behind the 3rd base line. The seats were great and the Cubbies beat the Braves – I couldn’t ask for a better start to the summer. That’s all for now, but don’t forget to check back here all summer long for updates about festivals, concerts, cubs games and more!
