Lollapalooza
Lollapalooza is an American music festival featuring rock, alternative rock, hip hop, and punk rock bands, dance and comedy performances, and craft booths. It also provided a platform for non-profit and political groups. Conceived and created in 1991 by Perry Farrell, singer for the band Jane's Addiction as a farewell tour for his band, Lollapalooza ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003. The festival encapsulated American youth culture for the 1990s much as Woodstock did for the 1960s.

Bonnaroo
The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is a four day annual music festival created and produced by Superfly Productions and AC Entertainment, first held in 2002. The festival is held on a 700 acre (2.8 km²) farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles southeast of Nashville, Tennessee. The main attractions of the festival are the multiple stages of live music, featuring a diverse array of musical styles including world music, hip hop, jazz, americana, bluegrass, country music, folk, gospel, reggae, electronica, and other alternative music.

Chicago Blues Fest
The Chicago Blues Festival celebrates the heritage of the blues by remembering the legends who created the music. The first was during the inaugural event in 1984-Muddy Waters, and continued in1991 with Robert Johnson's 80th year and continues throughout the run of the festivals. The 2008 edition will celebrate the centennials of Louis Jordan, Robert Petway and Tommy McClennan.

Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival
Attracting folks from all 50 U.S. States and 5 countries, the 2006 event featured over 100 artists, 7 stages and over 4 days of non-stop music and entertainment. The 2007 eventagain featured over 100sand drew attendees from all 50 U.S. States and several countries. 2008 will mark the 5th Anniversary of Wakarusa and the festival organizers have several surprises planned to mark the occasion.

The Old Town School of Folk Music presents the 12th Annual Folk & Roots Festival on July 11th & 12th. The festival takes place in beautiful Welles Park, located at the 4400 block of North Lincoln Avenue between Montrose and Sunnyside, in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.
