XRT's resident film critic, The Regular Guy has been offering his unique cinematic perspectives on Goin' to the Show since 1984. Overnight DJ Marty Lennartz overheard "The Guy" spouting a steady stream of unsolicited movie opinions from the back of a westbound Belmont Avenue bus. Lennartz, impressed by "The Guy's" way with words, invited him to share his insights with a larger audience on XRT's morning show and the rest is radio history.

Since then, "The Regular Guy" has become one of the most unique and popular features on Chicago radio. He has also appeared on the Movie Channel and has been heard on commercials for Old Style Beer, Domino's Pizza, McDonalds, Tony's Frozen Pizza, 7-11 and BudLight.

"The Guy" is a lifelong Chicagoan and currently resides in the basement apartment of his Uncle Bud's three flat, but has his eye on the third floor two bedroom. Along with his pal Motz, he can be found most nights at Louie's, J&J Liquor's Tap and Sportsman's Club, or maybe in the seat behind you at the show. If so, he requests that you please find another seat.

Goin' to the Show with the Regular Guy is heard Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45am and 6:15pm and as a regular feature on Saturday Morning Flashback.
