XRT’s Kristin Kay grew up in Shorewood, which is just outside of historic Joliet. After she graduated from Providence Catholic High School, and got that out of her system, she headed to the University of Dayton to become a Flyer. And let me tell you, there's no XRT in Dayton! She worked at UD's station, WUDR - The Udder, all 4 years, where the logo was a cow and the students had control. She also spent one of the summers spinning some tunes during the overnight at WOXY in Oxford, Ohio. The next year, she decided to apply for an internship at her favorite radio station - WXRT in Chicago, and was lucky enough to secure the internship after station management felt sorry for her.
After graduating from Dayton, she had nowhere to go and XRT welcomed her back with open arms to work in the marketing and promotions department. Since then, Kristin has become a big hit with listeners at all the XRT events and is a friendly face to those who attend fests and concerts around Chicago. You are encouraged to stop by these events to say hi to Kristin, and give her a reason to update the Top 5 comments she hears from you at XRT events.
Kristin’s future aspirations include being widely recognized as a leader in the field of "Saved by the Bell" trivia, starring in an infomercial, and running a pickle-on-a-stick stand at Taste of Chicago.
