Ken did his first show at XRT February 5th, 1994. His first exposure to radio came ten years earlier at defunct WGHS-FM in his hometown of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. While enrolled at the University of Iowa, he worked at student-run KRUI in Iowa City along with fellow XRT DJ Doug Levy. During his tenure at KRUI, he began his professional radio career at KQCR in Cedar Rapids,IA.
Upon graduating from University of Iowa with a B.A. in Film & Broadcasting, he was hired to do afternoons at the former WCBR "The Bear" in Arlington Heights. Exactly one year after being hired at WCBR he was fired, then hired at XRT three days later. When he's not on the air at XRT, he's in the air as an Airborne Reporter for Shadow/Metro Services doing reports for WBBM weekday afternoons.
Ken spends his spare time reading, watching movies, travelling, playing tennis, cooking, flying and seeing live music in and around Chicago. A decent drummer and so-so guitarist, he also enjoys making music. Before he dies, he'd like to see the Cubs play in a World Series. He lives within two "L" stops of the city limits in a Near West suburb with his wife Carla, their dog Bella, and cats Mona and Vinny.
He can be heard on Tuesday nights, most Saturdays 7PM-Midnight, Sundays after Jazz Transfusion and frequently fills in at night and overnight.
