The Blakes are a potent, Who-inspired power trio formed in Seattle in 2001 by brothers (and co-lead vocalists) Garnet and Snow Keim and drummer Bob Husak. Signed to Light in the Attic six years later, after generating local buzz on the strength of their explosive live shows and a pair of self-released EPs (2005's Little Whispers and 2006's The Blakes), the band released its self-titled full-length debut late last year. Filter dubbed them "breakout stars," while no less an authority on killer garage rock than Iggy Pop noted matter-of-factly, "This shit is good!" |
